The first gray wolf hunts in decades could happen this fall in Montana and Idaho, following the animal's recent removal from the endangered list across much of the Northern Rockies, according to an Associated Press report in the Idaho Statesman today. The wolf issue is red hot right now. Montana wildlife commissioners are voting today on proposal that wold let hunters shoot 75 wolves this fall. Idaho game commissioners will set a similar quota later this month. Meanwhile, environmentalists say they will challenge any wolf hunting season in court.
