Methamphetamine, once the scourge of small towns, is no longer the problem it once was in Casper, WY, Alison Rupp of the Casper Star-Tribune reports today. As a result, overall felonies in the county have decreased for three consecutive years. The turn-around comes on the heels of a community-wide campaign aimed at showing teens and young adults the "great risk" of trying meth even once. In 2005, there were 185 misdemeanor possession of meth charges and 115 felony meth charges in the county. In 2008, there were only 75 misdemeanor meth charges and 52 felony charges.
