Kelsey Turner, who grew up in New Jersey, most recently covered homelessness and affordable housing for The Columbian in Vancouver, Washington. Her work there identified gaps in the state foster care system and examined how stalling federal benefits led to evictions for people with disabilities. For The Chicago Reader, Turner took a critical look at police training for mental health emergencies, and at Native News Online, she dug into the fight for justice for missing and murdered Indigenous people.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Kelsey to our team,” said InvestigateWest’s news and investigations editor Wilson Criscione. “Her desire to dig into the most important, sensitive topics and her knack for investigative journalism jumped out at us. We can’t wait to see the excellent work she’ll produce for InvestigateWest.”
