Pregnant Oregonians need more addiction and mental health support — but the state’s network is fragile
Substance use and mental health disorders are driving more maternal deaths in Oregon than any other cause
The front page of Tuesday's Anchorage Daily News carries an interesting pair of stories about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's quixotic decision to resign. In a front-page interview, she tells the paper it was because "ethics complaints and politically ambitious state legislators would have been paralyzing." A companion piece gives voice to the important notion that public records and ethics laws exist for a good reason.
Interestingly, as though to note that there is something more important than gubernatorial psychodramas, the ADN Web site is carrying a piece on the progress of corruption charges against executives of Veco Corp., who are cooperating with federal prosecutors. Worth reading.
