Lynne Varner writing in The Seattle Times wonders if national health reform will hurt Washington state kids who live in one of only 13 states that offer health insurance to children from families earning up to 300 percent of the federal poverty level, or nearly $55,000 for a family of three. National health reform would render the state program obsolete, and move children into a federal program. "Could be a smart trade-off," she writes. "Or it could be the health-care-reform version of cash for clunkers."
