Pregnant Oregonians need more addiction and mental health support — but the state’s network is fragile
Substance use and mental health disorders are driving more maternal deaths in Oregon than any other cause
The Matanuska River north of Sutton, Alaska is flooding, aided by warm weather and melting glacial ice, according to the Associated Press. With water levels predicted to rise, erosion caused by the river is endangering homes and a nearby highway. Officials purchased land threatened by erosion with federal money in 2006, but with low oil prices and economic recession, no money is left this year. Residents will be on their own dealing with the approaching river.
